Unusual source of compliment on my kilt.
Last Friday night Michele and I went out to a local Moroccan restaurant. I was, of course, kilted. I knew that this restaurant sometimes had live entertainment, but I really hadn't thought about it. I just like their food. Lo and behold, shortly after we were seated, the entertainment started. Live music and a belly dancer. Quite comely, and showing a LOT of epidermis. She started moving around the room, dancing quite close to most of the male customers. She came to our table, leaned over me, and while shaking her ,eerrr, anatomy, said "I love your kilt." I managed to reply "I like your outfit as well." Michele was laughing so hard I thought she would hurt herself.

Dude in a kilt stands out, and dancers like people who stand out. Makes it easier to pick who gets the belly dance lesson.
source: wife has been a belly dancer for 10-ish years, and was a very popular restaurant dancer when it was a thing here in Portland.

Unfortunately, they asked that no pictures be taken during the performance.
