New Boots
Just got a new pair of hiking boots. I'll need to wear these every day for awhile to break them in before an upcoming cruise. I've also got my first bespoke kilt on order, a nice semi-trad Campbell ancient.
About the boots ... I'm more of a Birkenstock or five-fingers guy. With these boots, I notice I have to pick my knees up a bit more when I walk. That's going to add an accent to the swish with my swagger!

Many of our members have worn kilts on cruises and dressed for the formal dinners. If you choose to kilt-up for a formal, I hope you take a pair of dress shoes for that occasion. I think boots will be great for 99% of the time while on your feet strolling deck, docks, and trekking new places you'll visit. Enjoy yourself.

I'll have dress shoes as I'm bringing also my Saxon tux. Sadly, I've not yet bought a kilt jacket as I'm on a weight loss campaign to lose my wheat belly before my daughter's may '17 wedding. After that date, I will have proper formal attire either in an Argyll suit or a PC.
However, as I will have a vest on the cruise, I might see if that works on formal night without a jacket ... My thoughts ... A kilt and vest with a bow tie should outclass any Saxon attire
