Unfortunately, it's not in the financial cards for me at the moment. I'm glad to hear that your project is on the go, and I look forward to seeing what you do with your length of Alberta tartan!

    Jonseing!

Received word the tartan is woven and sent off to Perth for kilt making. Hope to receive some pics of the cloth to post.
    The jonseing just peaked!!

At the local Scot's shop, the proprietor showed me a bolt of Alberta tartan that was woven circa 1963. She had recently acquired it from a retired fabric sales owner. It is a weight and hand more suitable for skirts and other clothing items, and is visually appealing along with being significant to the heritage. Will be getting a pic of that to post.

edit: and here it is. Tried, but the pink line still looks white on my screen

    Here it is

Was sent this photo by the weaver to confirm we will be making the kilts to the sett. Admittedly the colour hues are off due to their lighting - the purpose being to confirm pleating not colours. They have been given the go ahead and kilt making begins! (as do the jonses)

I was told that the shades were determined by the weaver (HoE) based on the 'best available knowledge they had of the registered tartan'. While I don't exactly know what that means, it sounds good and so does the cloth look good. The photo seems close to how the tartan image appears on the SRT. Kilt and cloth should start the trip across the pond today.

AB Modern made its way onto the floor of the AB Legislature on 2 Mar 17 during the Speech from the Throne ceremonies. I feel the project has come to its successful conclusion.
One other kilt was delivered and 8m of the cloth made its way into the hands of another. I can point to the cloth source if anyone is interested, just send a PM.
