44th annual Stone Mountain Highland Games!! :)
My husband and I went to SMHG last year and had a blast, can't wait to go back in 4 weeks!! Who else will be there?
I assume we will have the XMarks meet-up at the Scottish Tartans Museum tent again?
I messaged TheScot (Jim) to see if there will still be the usual gathering Friday night at the Celtic Tavern in Conyers. We plan to be there with bells on

OK. I've been slack of late, but the Celtic Lass from Alabama has awakened me to the lateness of the hour. "To kilts, to kilts. The Games are coming," she shouted out.
Friday night at the Celtic Tavern is definitely on. I'll talk to Greg and find out who's playing that night. Maybe I can influence his choice.
We'll start to gather by 6:00 PM or so, and if you're very late, we will talk about you. General lying, drinking, and catching up starts early with cattle reiving and pillaging of the sassenachs reserved for later. (No taking live sheep this yearl; we always have complaints when we do that.)
Dress is as casual or as dressy as you like, but there's no need to overdo unless you just like to show off. LOL Most of us will be fairly casual and save the good stuff for Saturday at the games. If it's cool, then I'll be in a sweater; if hot, a short sleeved shirt.
What say we meet at the Tartan Society tent at 1:00 PM on Saturday, immediately following the Opening Ceremony which starts at noon? That way, we'll likely be there for the big show and not conflict with the other doings. Unless the traffic bites my tail again, I'll be there.
Please let me know if you can make it to the Celtic Tavern on Friday evening. I'll reserve a table or something if I know you're coming. Or we can just hang around, bother the local talent. If you bring your favorite scotch, plan to share.
Let's hear from you guys.

Btw
We are a lot more fun than the stuffy Sponsors Reception, although maybe not as well dressed.
Just sayin'

I do hope they do something different this year, to deal with the incoming traffic. I was so glad we stayed at Stone Mountain Inn and walked down to the games (as we will do this year). We saw the traffic and were blown away. It was awful.

Indeed. An hour to go the mile (or less) from the village to the gate. It'll be good to see you again.
@thescot, probably better to forgo the sheep this year; we're not getting any younger. Also, good to know we're finally being allowed back into Conyers in time for the festivities.
