My first kilt hasn't arrived yet and my wife is already telling all her friends. She thinks I'm crazy but she has no problem being seen with me in it anywhere, and in fact insists that I wear it to Christmas Eve celebrations with the extended family.

I'm already getting emails from her girlfriends asking The Question and I haven't even gotten it in the mail yet.

Thankfully the wife is completly supportive of me. She actually prefers to see me in a kilt instead of pants.

I just walked in on the rest of the family wearing a kilt. surprise, surprise, surprise as Gomer would say. Only comment that was made was a question from my brother about spoiling my habit of not wearing 'underthings'. He evidently thought that I was gonna start just because I was wearing something you "can see up". This from a family that is as country (mountains of NC) as you can get.

Well, I got mine when I was over in Scotland, and I had brought up the idea to my mother, and the only problem she had with it was regarding cost. She really likes the look of it, my grandparents who I'm quite close to think it's great, especially my grandmother, who's quite Scottish. My family and friends have accepted it totally without any problems. They all think it's great.

But anyways, doesn't really matter what they think. As long as I'm comfy and enjoying the kilt, that's all that counts!

It sounds like you're still getting used to the idea of wearing your kilt. It's a good idea not to stretch too far and only do what you're comfortable doing.

    Hi Will

Families can be fickle especially my two sons. They are at the age when everything I say and do is an embarrassment to them.

They think my kilt is just another way of me getting back at them. Eyes to the ceiling!!!

On the whole though I have my wife and kids support. My mother thinks its great, as do assorted others.

My brother? He just thinks I'm soft in the head.
