Will,
Going out with others is a lot of fun, but when you go out solo, that is an awesome experience, you have done well! Congratulations!!!

It must be harder for us older folks, my son began wearing a kilt recently and he is not bothered wearing it anywhere.
Tell me, have you lost weight? you seem much thinner in the recent photo (if you don't mind me saying so)
Graham,
I think you are right about being older making it harder (I have told people that I had Moses as a student). Don't know about your childhood, but where I grew up, wearing the wrong color socks would get you called "gay" (not the actual word used). That could be dangerous to your health. So wearing a kilt is a big step. I am glad that it is a non-issue for your son!
As to losing weight, I don't mind you saying so. I haven't lost any weight that I know of. In part, the Renaissance Shirt is very loose and adds to the appearance. I hope that some day, I do drop a few pounds. But then my kilts may not fit!

I find it works quite well. You might want to try a practice run or two.
