If you go to your Photobucket account and log in, you should find a link to "Download album" under Actions on the right hand side of any window that shows the slides in one of your albums. It will download a zipped folder of all your images. If you have more than one album, you need to do this for each of your albums.

If you want to make a new post in XMarks, you can insert an image directly from your hard drive (i.e., without a Photobucket URL) by clicking the Inset Photo icon above the post text window (see below) and then browsing to the photo you want to insert.

Once it's uploaded, you can double click on it and select the size you want it to appear in the post window.

If you have old threads with links to Photobucket, you're pretty much stuck with the ugly "ransom" image because threads are locked after 90 days, and you can't edit a locked thread. This is what has made so many people irate on forums, blogs, etc. all over the world.

Thank you Barb, the technofog is clearer now-----but not gone----I will give it try in a minute.

Well if the pictures are gone from our posts that is annoying, but damage limitation is the order of the day and perhaps some new pictures instead of the old favourites that I have tended to trot out on occasion may be a refreshing change?

Right! I am going in! I may be some time!

    Alternate explanation of uploads

    Hi!

Barb's got it, but for those who need different words, this is how I've explained XMarks uploads in the past.

For what it's worth... it's how I got this in here just now.
Rev'd Father Bill White: Mostly retired Parish Priest & former Elementary Headmaster. Lover of God, dogs, most people, joy, tradition, humour & clarity. Legion Padre, theologian, teacher, philosopher, linguist, encourager of hearts & souls & a firm believer in dignity, decency, & duty. A proud Canadian Sinclair with solid Welsh and other heritage.

Well so far so good! Pictures are now placed on my computer! Great.

Next problem, ---------oh what a surprise ------I don't have the icon that both Barb and Bill illustrate for doing what is needed to post a picture. Ideas? I am on Apple if that helps.

HOLD ON! Yes I have found it! What size picture do I choose for best use?

Hummmmm I am stuck now. So, there I am with a post with great words if wisdom ready to post and I have a stunning picture chosen to make a salient point, just what do I do to connect the two together?

Update. Still stuck on connecting the new post words and picture together. Thoughts anyone?

I don't ever post anything bigger than about 3"x5" at 150 ppi (that's 450 pixels x 750 pixels) . There's no need to post anything bigger than that. If you post big files, they take a long to time load when someone wants to read your post and they aren't on a superfast Internet connection.

Forgive me if I am being a tad more dense than usual, I am, in my defence, an admitted technodunce, just in case that was not obvious!roll: But---------

I have just posted four pictures in a thread above that are about matchbox size. So posting a picture to a thread comes in as that size but------wait for it---------the eureka moment for me---------- is that anyone, that is logged on here, can click onto the matchbox picture to enlarge it? Is that the way its done?

    Well it works for me!
