Nice photos, was it really necessary to post one of a pair of dead jocks?

Thread moved to the "Military History & Heritage" forum section which is
"...exempt from the restriction to the weapons section as laid out in Rule #11, but must conform to the guidelines set out in the weapons section."

This one has got to be the finest photo of a Highland piper ever taken.

Back when I was around 20 (40 years ago!) I did a stint in WWI re-enacting. At that time I was skinny, and vintage WWI kit was still available for not all that much money. I had all that kit seen in those photos, and wore it out in the field. I can still vividly recall how incredibly thick and heavy that kilt was, the jacket was.

Though a piper I spent quite a bit of time carrying and firing an SMLE rifle and Webley revolver.

Which is all to say that those photographs bring back a lot of memories!

No, it wasn't necessary to post any of them and I am happy to remove any anyone requests. I just took the lot from a FB post, resized and reposted them en masse.

If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Looking back through the post, it seems one of the photos escaped! I have added it here rather than amend the original.

Obviously coloured later by someone that did not understand/have the tartan to hand.
