Neck tie length with kilt

The basic idea with a tie, kilted or in pants, is the same. The tie should come to the belt or top button. I have heard "experts" claim the top of the belt to mid-belt. Most seem to be close to the mid-belt length. When wearing a kilt you might want to use a different knot that uses more of the tie or just have less tie in the back.
