The Malcolm modern tartan fits in for this Christmas festive season. And this Friday I am able to wear my recently received waistcoat from USA Kilts.

My first Kilted Friday with the New Kilt, was at my Part Time job with my Seniors and delivering the Meals on Wheels Hampers to the Volunteers so they could take a hot meal to someone. This was the second unveiling of my Kilt, after Sunday's Christmas Festival at the Church. With the -5 Celsius, or -13 with the Windchill, there was a "Wee Bit' of of Nip in the Air.

I decided to go causal today, my Clan Farquharson Kilt is a 13 oz 4 yard Casual Kilt from Lochcarron, made in Barrie Ontario at Burnett's and Struth. Is is Lochcarron's Medium Weight from their Braeriach Line. The Ghillie Shirt is from L & M Highland Outfitters, The Tartan Scarf is from Ingles Buchan, The Kilt Hose is Merino, I don't think they are House of Cheviot, as when I got them in Stratford and there was no House of Cheviot on the Label, but it did say Marino Hose., and the Bottle Green Flashes are Lochcarrons. The Cap Badge and Kilt Pin are from the Art Pewter line. The hat I bought at Lids here in Kitchener, long before I got into wearin' the Kilt, and the shoes are some Casual Dress Shoes I got a couple of years ago.

Andrew, one of our Scheduler/Dispatchers, wore his Highland Attire as well. My Seniors and the Ladies and Gentleman who work at the Day Programmes, as well as the Volunteers I took the Meals on Wheels too all loved the Kilt. A couple of my Seniors were as anxious as I was for the kilt to arrive. Some wanted to know if I was cold, but where I worked in Northern Alberta for Four Years where the Temperatures could get to -40 celsius without the Windchill, I told them this wasn't cold.
I did notice a bit of a "Wee Draught" when I was outside, but as they say in one Youtube Video on how to wear the Kilt with Formal Attire; "Join in the Fun, Enjoy the Breeze between your Knees, and remember to sit down with your legs together"... For Which I did......

Today, being National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day, I paired mine with my Robbie Red tartan USK 5-Yarder. It's been a hit at office. I've posted on FB an Impromptu Kilt Night, tonight at Park Lane Tavern for this special day.

There's a Wee Bit of a Nip in the Air. -5 Celsius with a -11 Windchill with Wee bit of Snow blowing around.. . I told my Seniors last week, (I was not wearing my Kilt, I was saving it for our Christmas Party last Friday Evening), that I'd wear my Kilt for them today, no matter the weather. I won't be seeing them now until the New Year, when their Day Programmes begin again.
Before work, I stopped in at the Local Tim Hortons for my Coffee on the way today, and a Lady said she really liked the Kilt, and thought it was wonderful I'd wear it for my Seniors I transport, and in all this cold. I explained that today was like a Spring Day for me, where for 4 years I worked in Northern Alberta in the Oil Patch and saw temperatures hover around -50 something with the Windchill.
She was so grateful I would risk cold for my Seniors, she insisted on buying me my Morning Coffee. The Only things she asked me is if I played the Pipes also.. She loved the Clan Farquharson Tartan, and agreed it was like I was wearing my Christmas Colours...
Hope all in the Rabble are having a Wonderful Blessed Day.. Merry Christmas to all.

Sorry,no pictures and no kilt today. Another volunteer day at Heritage Park. Today at St Martin’s Anglican Church singing Christmas hymns all day. The Anglican Church was a big part of my youth - where I was a choir boy and an alter boy. Not so much as an adult but the day in the church brought back many memories, many from more than 50 years ago.
Merry Christmas!
