Yes! Living here that is always a fun one. It was funny when we had relatives joke about how they would travel "Up North" when they visited

I must admit that this thread turned out completely different from the way I expected. I started out with picture of a man on a paddle board wearing a kilt. Not one comment has been made about that pic even though I doubt that paddleboarding in a kilt is a common occurrence. Not complaining just commenting

For sure BC has a variety of micro-climates which are very interesting, like the Okanagan Valley with its Mediterranean climate and wine industry.
The other thing is the coastal climate which stretches from BC down into Mexico, which is why you can have a places like San Francisco with moist cool weather, and all the way down to San Diego, and further.
Many Americans are thinking about central Canada which gets very cold in winter and very hot in summer.
It's amusing, sometimes, at my workplace (Disneyland) to hear Albertans do the mental calculations and come to completely wrong guesses as to our Southern California weather. So they'll be here in mid-winter and it will be around 70 degrees and they'll do some calculating and think that our summers are incredibly hot, or they'll be here in summer and it will be around 70 degrees and they'll do some calculating and think that our winters are incredibly cold.
"No," we'll say "it's usually about like this." (EDIT: Today, Christmas Eve, it was... wait for it... 70 degrees.)
About the "eh" many Canadians say that, many say "hey", many say neither. What gives them away are their pronunciation of "sorry" and "out" and distinctive words like "mum" and distinctive phrases like "is that right?" "right on!" and "holy moly".

I did notice he's wearing the California tartan.
I will point that the thread title is "December California vs Canada" and as threads go along later contributors see the title but might not see the original post, especially once the thread goes past one page.

Ah yes that exceptionally even and mild weather we on the Left Coast enjoy.
It was 80f/27c here yesterday, by the way, at a time when a big chunk of North America is in a deep freeze.
