I would be carefull on that first one, it looks like it is pleated all the way around. It may just be a bad pic (or kilt), but I thought I saw a few pleats in the front.
You would even be better to check out these guys http://stores.ebay.com/kiltmart_W0QQsspagenameZl2QQtZkm or stillwater kilts ( http://www.stillwaterkilts.com/ ). That little extra cash will be worth it.

Those are not kilts.
I don't even see a proper apron. They look like sport skirts. Er, I mean sport kilts. On the first one, that's the BACK of the kilt. See the belt loop in the middle? Most of it's not even pleated and the surviving pleats have wandered off to better places.
Those look an awful lot like the school girl uniform skirts that I see getting passed off on ebay as kilts.

The first one is IN FACT a skirt. With no apron, and (apparently) no opening, it is pleated throughout. COULD it be altered to have an apron? Yup.
The second one looks a little more like a kilt, but will also need some altering to create some taper. It may be as easy as sewing the hips. Since it used to be a ladies' skirt (the apron was changed from left to right) you'll also need to check on the direction of the pleats. They may go the wrong way. Could it be altered into a man's kilt? Yup... with a complete take-apart and re-sew. Basically, you would be buying the material.
Pray someone else outbids you. Save your money for more. You can let us know of impending auctions, and we'll be MORE than happy to throw advise and opinions.

Better yet... DON'T buy any kilts. I have two that I will gladly throw your way. Since you're new to the kilts scene, I have a Menzies Red Scottish Traditional (three buckles) and a USAKilts Philabeg in the old Hooligan Tartan. They're yours.
Let me know where to send them... and they're as good as in the mail.

Good grief Jimmy I didn't know you were so generous, my measurements will be pm'd to you forthwith
Swat how did you find the McDonald? and I see you're into your paintballing so why not save up and get a decent cammo. Mine's still going fairly strong despite being ripped, scuffed, sludged up off roading, a cow once tried to eat it and I wash it in a machine despite it being dry clean only. You won't regret it mate and you can save Jimmys kind offerings for smart/casual.
Just a thought
