    House of Cheviot

    Learned Rabble,

Some quick advice if I may please; how is the fit on House of Cheviot hose? 'Medium' fits UK 8 - 10, and I am a 9. Are they generous? I suppose I ask due to the potential for wool to shrink.

    Grateful thanks.

    I'm a size 9 and find HoC 8-10 perfect.

I wear US shoe size 9.5 and find the Medium HoC hose to be a perfect fit. I also haven't had issues with shrinking. I place my hose in a lingerie/delicates bag and machine wash cold, then I let them dry flat on a towel.

You shouldn't need to worry about shrinking if you hand-wash with Woolite in cool or warm water and then air dry. Plus these are a merino wool blend with some stretch to them.

Finding hose that fit me is often challenging due to

    1) big feet: UK 13 EU 48 US 14
    2) fat calves: 18" circumference
    3) being tall with long legs: I'm 6'4" and need 18" hose-height.

Oftentimes hose will fit in the feet will but be too tight in the calves and/or too short.

    Not with House of Cheviot!

Their XL fits perfectly in the foot AND in the calf AND they're tall enough!

Which is why they're my go-to kilt hose.
