Stopped into USA kilts earlier today with the wife and kids. Got the middle child fitted for a kids kilt in USAF; he really loved the colors. His grandfather and I have a good nature tussle over both kilts and the airforce, he was an airborne ranger and wants his grandsons to follow suit. I'd prefer they stay out of the military but if either join I'd prefer they choose to not go jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.
We'd just come back from a 22 mile bike ride on the Lebanon Valley trail so I was just wearing my Muir box pleat with a black button up jersey and sneakers.

(Syd, Australia) I was at a friend's birthday karaoke shindig, and afterwards, some of us went to find a bar, but one of the guys didn't get let in, so we went elsewhere to a bar/club next to a backpacker's place - so it was a bit wild

A Scottish lady was admiring the kilt and asking questions about where I was from (I was saying - the Czech Republic, but born in Australia) - and then a Scottish guy joins the conversation and freaks out - he's like "are you William Wallice?" - and I'm like - ...yes~

Then he started dragging me around the club tapping random people on the shoulder introducing me to everyone - "it's William Wallice!!" - he was so excited, it was hillarious

my friends were leaving at that time, so I started shuffling to the door (they were just sitting near-by getting air) - and he says "lets go have a fag" - he introduced me to his friends - and then I was giving him piggy-back rides up and down the street while he screamed "freedom~!!"
then his friends were saying - security won't let you back in - and he replied that it just made his night, and he was ok to just go home and sleep, hahahaha,,

Definitely the best kilted adventure yet~
(there were photo/video but didn't get to me)
ah also they were getting me to say some stuff, so I practiced my scottish accent, I think it was a respectable effort ~ (I mean.. I can roll Rs from speaking Czech,,)

Spent the last week in Nova Scotia, and donned the kilt for a good part of it. Some pics when they get to me.
The family reunion was great, with a few of us in the tartan. A USAK Cape Breton, also, which looked very good.

Prologue: Up this AM and put on a comfy Sportkilt. Worked out on my home Gazelle. Switched to a 5.11 Tactical for yard chores; change water in birdbaths and watered plants. Headed for shower and switch to USA Kilts casual in Malcolm tartan for going to the office this AM. Leaving at noon for parental home to visit with Dad. Stopping in at Legend Brewing Portsmouth Depot.

Wonder what kilted adventures I'll encounter today?

Give this post a "Aye" if you're kilted for Friday.

Aye, but for once not all day. Crawling around under my daughter's car in the rain didn't seem an ideal occupation in a kilt.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Wasn't kilted today, but I was yesterday for a piping gig playing for a couples 10th anniversary.

The only downside is I was playing in the balcony of a church with no air conditioning. It was about 95°F out, and probably close to 100 of not more in the balcony. Not the best temperatures for lots of wool.

    Kilted Friday Attempt

I'm going to try for a kilted Friday for the third week in a row. I've been meaning to the last two Fridays but I've been downhearted at the condition of my kilt, hose, and flashes. Finally after acquiring some non-white hose (don't blame me - the white hose came with the kilt) and having my wife make me some LOVELY Lovat green and solid red flashes, and re-pressing the pleats, I think I'm finally ready to be kilted in public without embarrassing my ancestors. :P
