Help identifying a tartan

Could someone please tell me what this tartan is? I'm pretty sure it's a variation of Hunting Stewart, possibly the one below, but I can't seem to find a pic of either the real tartan material or a kilt made from it. The problem may be because this is a blanket and the scale is not correct. If anyone has a picture of the actual tartan please post it.Thank you.

This looks like a 'Trade Fancy' on the theme as so not a Stewart tartan per se. The manufacturer many have named it but I've no idea what, if it was named, what it was.

It looks very similar to the Stewart hunting, weathered produced by lochcarron, have a look at scotweb, the 16oz would make a nice kilt ( I was considering it for my current "kilt in the making" but went for Cullins of Skye instead.

Well the photos of the travel rug are tagged "antique htg stewart" so there you go.

Hard to tell from those photos but they've made small changes here and there.

The black lines are now brown, the green areas (of the Modern and Ancient versions) have remained green.

The black and green lines in the blue/grey band are all green.

When is a tartan a different tartan? Yes the rug uses a different palette/colour-scheme, but except for differing proportions here and there, and the black double-track lines changed to green (when one would expect brown) it appears to be Hunting Stewart.

Thanks for the replies, I have seen this tartan before and I do like it, however, the only color hose I've see worn with it are bison, gray, or brown. I like ancient green hose, but can't imagine that working with any weathered tartan really.




I suppose I could go with the Stewart weathered muted hunting, but then I'm not sure what color hose other than ancient green would work. I'm not even sure ancient green would look good.

Can't say for sure.

But it looks to me like the Scottish National tartan, which I would like to clarify for anybody reading this, is a completely different tartan from Pride of Scotland.

This is the gist of it. The blanket is sold at several online places as "Antique Hunting Stewart" tartan, and the tag I see in the ads says it was woven by Tweedmill. They have some lovely other tartan blankets too, as well as all sorts of goodies and accessories in checks, various tweeds, etc.

For some crazy reason ,I hadn't noticed the name. I was hoping it was a real tartan because I like the more blue color of it.
