Check out this thread and you will see it with Lovat green hose , looks quite good .

But it looks to me like the Scottish National tartan, which I would like to clarify for anybody reading this, is a completely different tartan from Pride of Scotland.
It's certainly not the Scottish National tartan, or anything like it.

That I very much doubt. What you've seen is something like it. It is not the same sett as that of the various pictures you posted.

I would classify this as a trade variation/error for the Hunting Stewart. The images are not the best but this appears to be the sett compared with the original Wilsons' setting (left).

Given that the maker, Tweedmill Textiles Ltd, is based in Flint does that make this a Welsh version .

    Tokareva,

I think that claret/maroon hose would look good with any of the tartan variations you pictured. To be honest, I haven't seen many tartans that don't work well with claret. You might also find that mustard works, if you are willing to try a somewhat bold color.

Thanks Mike, that combination does look great. I'm starting to think ancient green may be the most versatile hose color ever, and one of the best looking.

Thanks Andrew, the claret sounds like an excellent choice, and I like the color anyhow. Would have to think about the mustard though, maybe that orange color could work too.
