Scotland County, NC Highland Games

I just checked the website and the Scotland County Highland Games, in Laurinburg, NC is still happening October 6, 2018, despite damage from Hurricane Florence at the venue and in the surrounding area. As of right now my wife and I will be attending. The Carolina Caledonian Fest in Fayetteville that was scheduled for later in October has been canceled.

I am registered to have a tent for Clan Sinclair, but my hotel reservation was cancelled earlier this week due to severe hurricane-related damage. If I can find alternate accommodations, I will be there.

We’re driving up that morning from the coast. It’s about a 2 1/2 hour drive for us but nae bother. Hope you can work something out. Too bad about the wee gathering in Fayetteville. It’s been wrecked by hurricanes 2 of the last 3 years. My wife, stepdaughter and I had a great time there last year. It was their first Highland Games and they really enjoyed it.

Always look forward to these fine games. The piper section grows by leaps and bounds. Will get there Fri to set up camp and our booth. Come if you can.
