So if I did go green, what would we all think of something like this (gaelic themes jacket sold by st kilda)?

If I had to choose just one tweed colour for a kilt jacket for daywear, then it would be green. Subtle additions to the basic green could be a tinge of brown added to the weave, or a very SUBTLE brown/red windowpane effect. Some of us here don't understand the subtle bit!!! I also think that we should not be afraid to add argyll cuffs, stag horn buttons, etc.. Why? Well why not? We are wearing the kilt after all, so why not have some of the embellishments of a proper kilt jacket too?

This jacket was made for me in 1984(just checked the label) from the happy happenstance of some spare Harris tweed that was lying around in my mother's cupboard . It does not fit me as well as it used to, but I think it will see me out without the need of a tailor!

Classic. It's hard to go wrong with a Lovat green jacket and waistcoat. Of all the choices out there, I'd say this is the one that everyone should have in their wardrobe. That colour goes with virtually everything, or at the very least doesn't fight with anything. It's got a nice traditional cut and details, and the complexity of the tweed up close is lovely. It looks like a great jacket, although I'd have to swap those faux antler buttons out for the real thing.
(I went for a long time without a Lovat green jacket, trying to find just the perfect one on the vintage market. I finally got one a couple of months ago. In my thinking, it's the safest of choices for a daywear jacket. It's not going to stick out in a crowd, but it's also not going to raise any eyebrows.)

Looks very nice; like the colour and I think it's hard to go wrong with green.
I picked up a Harris Tweed vintage jacket and waistcoat in the fall and it is wonderful. I'm not sold on the green with my Loud MacLeod but with my tank I think it looks very nice.

I have essentially the same kilt jacket and waistcoat from Gaelic Themes. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

A thought occurs to me. For what it is worth if it were me going down the green tweed route, I think I would lean more towards the more green colour spectrum rather than the blue/green spectrum, for no other reason that the blue/green is rather too popular these days and therefore rather "same-ish" in my humble opinion.

An interesting point Jock has made about the "same-ish" trend to the blue-green jacket and that being too popular. I remember the Grey suits of IBM in the 1970's as a "look-trend" to offset the accepted norm of the blue business attire of the times. In my mind, the idea then was "fit the bill of conformity" yet define the company as apart from the herd. This can filter into your choice as well.
Thank you Jock for giving us food for thought.

I purchased their forest green jacket with Braemar cuffs and corded epaulettes around 6 months ago, I was undecided between highland and forest green, they sent me a patch of each free of charge. It is worth doing this as the colours in natural light are a lot different to Internet pictures taken in artificial light. The differences changed my wife's opinion on what was the nicest colour.
The tweed is not heavy and is soft immediately, which means it doesn't need "worn in" and is warm without being overly so, I got green like you because it goes with everything and is less formal that my dark grey arrochar tweed jacket, good fit (I paid extra for full tailoring).
