FB, thank you re the vest and thoughts on the belt. It was early in my kilt wearing experience. I’ve been experimenting with belt and beltless. I have a nice brown Sporran and Belt with a regular buckle that usually goes with the vest now. Perhpas still a bit of overkill, but fore some unknown reason I feel a bit incomplete without a belt. It’s pretty much hisden here so could easily do without it.....

But he sits down with you and puts you into his system so that was helpful.
You should do it. Nice guy and a good conversationalist. If you're like me, you may be his size and can try on some of his own kilts.

SWMBO would kill me, because I already make my own kilts. But I am going to catch up with Cathy Hope, who makes some kilts for him, so maybe I might be able to meet him to say hi.

That is a great casual look, and would work with any cilt I believe - love the shemagh addition!

Thanks! This tends to be much of my "look". I have worn hose-with-garters all of thrice in my life for very special occasions. Most of the time, I don't and prefer alternatives. The shemagh is a nice, soft, comfortable (and multi-purpose!) scarf that I wear about half the year during the cooler months.

Great overall look, very comfortable and at ease. I love that waistcoat, where did you get it?

Thank you. The waistcoat is about 28 years old. It is from Hackett in London. It’s part of a shooting suit, very traditionally cut with a high waist on the Plus Fours, so the waistcoat is a bit shorter than usual, which works well for the kilt, being similarly high. Hackett still makes great suits, another good source is Cordings of Piccadilly.

Kilted Thursday at the Office

Really bad photo of me at the office this morning, taken with my company-issued laptop's webcam. I'm sure there will be better ones later as tonight is our Quarterly Meeting, which is more party and less business.
EDIT: The shirt's sleeves are a bit too long. I bought it earlier this week off the rack at a thrift shop and haven't gotten to getting it tailored yet.

Reason: Add bit about shirt sleeves being too long.
