HIGHLAND HERITAGE LTD.
This is TOO IMPORTANT to post in just the "Traditional" section, since it's the price break and AUTHENTIC quality that guys are looking for.
__________________________________________________ _
There IS a place to get AUTHENTIC traditional kilts in a wool WORTHY of being a kilt. These handsewn kilts are not only beautiful, but they're sturdy, professionally sewn, and at prices that are affordable. Once rentals... they're now available to you!!! I can highly recommend and endorse these people and their shop. Besides the huge selection of Royal Stewart, Black Watch and Flower of Scotland AUTHENTIC Traditionals, they also had a load of other tartans... including solid GREEN!!!
Besides being a kiltmaking shop, they're ALSO bagpipe makers. There's a complete line of Scottish accessories too. In fact, if you ask nicely, I'll bet you can grab a Prince Charlie jacket.

Sounds like a very interesting company. Unfortunately, the only items I've been able to view on their website is buckles, sgian dubhs, and sporrans. Is the problem at my end??

I'll go through and see the site. I've only been to the WELL STOCKED and outstanding shop. Everything they have is NICE! The kilts are just the best thing going.
As for the price, you might PM Calico Jack since he's already bought from them. Otherwise, they are expecting inquiries from XMarksTheScot members in the coming days and weeks.
I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. These are not wannabe's. These are AWESOME, well-made, thick, beautiful kilts made in substantial wool (no that thin cr_p, in order to save money). It's worth the time to inquire and work with them in order to get a legitimate "tank".
*They laughed when we started talking about some other kilts. They KNOW what they're doing and have the education and background.

I will gladly second all that Jimmy has said. My brother wore a kilt for his wedding, as did the groomsmen, including myself. We rented them from Highland Heritage and had a great experiance. Thats one of the big reasons I bought the kilt I did. And they really are as good as Jimmy is describing them. I'll be more than happy to tell anyone what I paid if they PM me.
Cheers,
Calico Jack
P.S. The site has been acting a bit wierd here too. I can hardly access any of the portions.

I could not find a single thing about kilts on there.
I am so so wanting to get a tanker of a kilt but at the same time cash is of a constraint. me and the wife are both going back to college and all that jazz. So funds are not as free flowing as they used to be.

I keep getting a "no items found" message on most of the items listed on their side bar and when I do a site search for kilts.
Hmmmm

TRUST ME on this one. It's worth an email or a phone call... with the right ammo. You can ask about the available tartans and solids that are hanging-up. You can ask about the available sizes. You can even ask about the jackets.
Know that there are a LOAD of kilts hanging-up in the shop. If they only had a few, the haggling might be a moot point. But, there are a load of OUTSTANDING kilts there... ready for a new home. Remember, we're NOT talking about some peices-of-"stuff" here. These kilts are NICE!
If you need me to go down and check-out your "holds"... let me know. I wouldn't be worried about ANY of the kilts though.
