Although I personally don't favor boots with kilts, I still recommend the offerings from Thursday Boot Company for those who do: https://thursdayboots.com/collections/boots

Darn! My wife did not like those boots either!

Do you know how hard it was to find those in a 13 EEE?

I really like the brown brogue boots that have been posted. I first saw a pair I liked at Clark’s, but the widths were all too narrow for me. Now, to go with my USA Kilts Cù Dubh ... I was wanting black ... got an Alice Cooper concert coming up, don’t want brown boots with my black kilt. And then Dr. Marten offers us a new hardware model ... day 1 of the breaking in process has begun.

I go for the boots and kilt look. Military/walking boots for casual events.
I've also experimented withering puttees - throw back to the 70s and 80s. I wear them with brogue boots. I think they need something at the top to transition between the boot and the hose.

Well Mr Stonk I'm not very stylish when dressing down the kilt...for the rugby (and the drinking) it's pure practicality, with trainers for all the running up and down the concrete steps, the roomiest sporran I have, a cap to keep off the sun

I dont have any pics of me "out in the wild".
I do like the look of boots with a kilt. Its just in Florida, its a bit hot most of the time. So for a compromise i have a pair of Converse hi-tops to wear in the "winter". If i went to clubs and concerts like i did when i was 20-30, i would go with a pair of Docs.
And not much rugby to go watch here either.
