in the words of Charlie Brown
I recently posted a question regarding bulling of British military footwear and was extremely pleased with the responses I got back, so again thanks everyone for your input. One point that was made consistently was that British military footwear is not made to be bulled or spit shined as it is pebbled leather. During my career in law enforcement I began to collect police coffee mugs and military mugs; today while looking on the Scottish regimental shop website where I collect regimental coffee mugs I found these: https://www.scottishregimentalstore....ues-6821-p.asp
Really patent leather!! Looks like the mother country is some what enamored with the spit-shine. They look like colorafam shoes which does not allow the foot to breath like leather does. In the words of Charlie Brown ARRRRGH !!!!

Shhhh...can you here that? Generations of Sergeant-Majors rolling over in their graves and scratching at the lids of their caskets trying to get out! I wouldn't wear them on the parade square.
Oddly the patent leather brogues are also more expensive than the genuine leather brogues that they sell. Maybe it's just me, but I would opt for the leather every time.
