This takes some big courage. We are in the deep south and some people can be a closed minded about something a little different. But when I dropped them off, they both got a lot of nice complements.

This was taken before we picked up his girlfriend. The little dog is posing too!

Indeed, Roadkill you have every reason to be proud of your son. Adorable photos that will be cherished over the years.

Wore my Isle of Skye kilt today with green hose, red flashes, khaki shirt, black belt, buckle, and shoes, and a blue flat cap.
Had someone yell "Scotland and Ireland forever!" while I was at the gas station. Other than that, nothing much interesting today.
Now, if yesterday had been Friday, I'd have more. Had probably 10 people comment or ask questions about it yesterday, got asked "the question", had one lady who said her son wore a kilt for his Scouts troop, and had one young guy who was all kinds of interested in kilts and has been saving up for a USA Kilts casual and a 5-yard wool which he wanted to buy at the same time. Had probably 3-4 people ask what tartan it was. But, alas, this isn't Kilted Thursdays Adventures.

In these uncertain times because of the coronavirus, maintaining one’s routine can be comforting to others just not oneself. Friday, I wore my Newsome single box pleat kilt in the St. Patrick tartan. The compliments received in the office seemed more sincere and appreciative. Late in the afternoon I was asked if I was going someplace special after work. I replied, the local Giant grocery store to hopefully pick up a loaf of Irish soda bread. And I did the next to last loaf! I also scored the next to last 8 can pack of Guinness for $9.99.
Looks like my Donegal DNA came through again.

Oh, I should mention another "Kilted Thursday" thing that happened. Was walking past a butcher's shop, and the proprietor came rushing out to the door to ask me what tartan I was wearing. Apparently he's from Ireland (accent and everything) and was all excited to see someone in a kilt. Turns out their shop specializes in Irish- and British-style meat products and foods that are not commonly available in the USA.
So, for anyone who's on the fence about wearing a kilt as casual wear, do it! Lots more people out there with way more interest think than you'd expect.

This Friday, with what would be a record high temperature of 88 degrees F, I put on my cotton kilt hose with my casual Burnett's & Struth Malcolm modern kilt. I meet with the Board of Directors of the gated community of active adults that I manage to take precautions with the COVID-19 pandemic. All common area facilities and activities have been shut down for 6 weeks. Staff sent home with half scheduled work pay. The Board considered me essential personnel allowed to decide whether to take care of my duties and responsibilities either at home or in my office at the now closed clubhouse (no office hours) as I determine best for my well being. Interesting times to experience.

Yesterday, it was about 34°F (1°C) and windy at about 25MPH (40km/h). Still fine weather for a kilt, as is any weather. Just not an acrylic one - they're too light and fluffy and catch the wind too easily. Wore my Isle of Skye P/V casual kilt from USA Kilts, charcoal hose, red flashes, black casual button-up shirt, black sporran, belt, and patchy black/gray flat cap. Nothing much interesting happened. Just a pretty normal day.

Figured yesterday was a good day to throw on a kilt; doing some chores around the house.

As the weather is getting warmer and I don't have anywhere to go for the next couple of weeks, I will probably strap on a kilt more regularly as I do some house and yard work.

Well, another Friday at home and decided it was another good day to go kilted.
A little snow down last night and looking forward to spring arriving for real.

Hope everyone is staying safe.

I was chatting with a new acquaintance recently and it revived my interest in putting on the belted plaid. Did that, along with a "work shirt" from Townsends. Super comfy and looks not-bad with the plaid. The boots, admittedly, are cheap Minnetonka but I like them. I know that my clothing choices aren't everybody's cup of tea (Lyon's of course!) but I like my choices. I left a bit today to run a few errands, being careful with social distancing. Spending time at home on my multiple projects but also getting adjusted to teaching my students on-line as best as we can manage at this time. Will head out with my bride and our dog later for a walk.
Best wishes to all.

Loch Ness Sport Kilt today with cream-colored hose, red flashes, dark blue short-sleeve button-up, dark blue flat cap. Black boots, sporran, belt. Got a "very nice" from a young lady at one place I stopped today, but that was about it. Nothing particularly eventful. Pretty normal. Michigan's on "stay-at-home", so doing anything outside the house is pretty minimal.
