Thomson Blue Modern matching thread help
Hi all, hoping someone can provide some guidance for matching thread to the blue in Thomson Blue modern. I picked up some Lochcarron 13oz wool in this tartan and I'm using Barbara Tewksebury's book (many thanks ) to make my first kilt, a 4 yard box pleated kilt for my brother - I'm happy with the lighter weight the 4 yards of 13oz provides as he lives in a very hot climate. Also pleased with the quite small set size which has allowed me to get ten 2" pleats from it.
Only trouble is that now I have come to stitching the pleats and have no matching, or enough of a close to matching, thread. Does anyone knew which guttermann sew all would match the blue in this tartan please? or an equivalent brand/type?
I know I might struggle to source the thread now, but look forward to sharing finished pics. Thanks

Gutermann thread isn't the only thread that would work well on a kilt. Are you able to get to a fabric store, or are you in lockdown ATM?

I use Gutterman #230 for the blue and #22 for the white and #10 for the Black.

If you are looking at various shades and wondering which to pick, usually going for a darker rather than a lighter thread will be the best choice as it should blend in better.

The blue in the Lochcarron Thompson Tartan is not a true blue but a blue/gray.
The no. 230 Gutterman, while it does look lighter, is not a bad match.
