The ancient colours across all tartans take some beating. In general, I find the modern colours too harsh.

Well said, Ham.! I've always felt the same way; some of the tartans in "ancient" colours look far better than the "modern" versions.

That is one nice looking tartan Graham! I too am finding that I'm starting to prefer the ancient and weathered tartans to the modern colors.
