Newbie.........I like that term
So a good friend suggested I join up here. Thanks Bear for the heads up on this place. Pretty interesting reading that's for sure!
So yeah, I'm a newbie to the site but not to kilt making. I've been at it for about 4 years now. Poverty bred some new talents. My daughter is a Highland dancer and who can afford those outfits? Not us. I got Barb's book and got busy and the rest is history. So kilt making is my favourite way to spend my time and I only wish I were rich so I could make a new one for each of us every year!
I look forward to 'meeting' the rest of you and I only hope I am as interesing as some of the stuff I've been reading tonight.
Happy New Year one and all!
Patty.

Hiya Patty!
Glad you found the place.
For the rest of you, Patty will be making traditionally made Bear Kilts. High waist, buckles, horsehair lining, the works. I'm no slouch but Patty's pleats put mine to shame.
I'm just finishing the page for my site before making the announcement.
If you're wondering about the sharpness of the pleats or the flow of the fabric, here's some pics of her work. Patty's daughter, Meg, is the first model. The tartan is Muted Blue Stewart.
...oh yeah, 4-6weeks delivery!

And here's a great shot of Patty's niece, Caitlin.

If the traditionally made kilts are anything like the pictures (which I'll bet don't do them justice) they are going to be drop dead wonderful.
Patty you do GREAT work.

Well isn't it nice to be so warmly welcomed. I look forward to everyone's advice, input, suggestions, ideas, and critical reviews (but only if they're good hehehe). My husband and I will now be fighting over who gets to check their forum first. Thank goodness we have two computers.........but with 3 kids who knows what will happen??????????
An old favourite family toast goes out to all of you:
"Here's lookin' up yer kilt!"

Cameron...
Welcome Patty -- like your Cameron badge! Just found a book at the local used book store entitled "Lochiel of the '45: The Jacobite Chief and the Prince", all about the Camerons in the 1745 Rebellion -- very interesting reading! Your badge reminded me of it!
Again, welcome tae the board!
Cheers, ![Cheers!](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_beer.gif)
