    Thank you!

Agreed, it's a favorite - no frills, just a nice plain sporran. I appreciate the lack of tassels, also - a bit quieter.

    Kilted Friday, NOT

Tuesday, was National Tartan Day. I kilted up and went downtown Fredericksburg and paid my respects to General Hugh Mercer at his statute. This Scottish American gave his life for his new country and died at the hands of his old. You can read about here.

Today’s outfit. I decided to wear the Royal Stewart tartan after hearing the news about The Duke of Edinburgh. Today also marks the start of the the battle of Vimy Ridge hence the Vimy Foundation tie. The hose are from House of Cheviot in the Bowmore range. Garter ties also from Cheviot. Jacket and waistcoat are from William Glen and Sons. Sgian Dubh is hand carved ebony with silver and a cairngorm. Sporran from Artificer Custom Sporrans. Vintage cuff links are from EBay. The shirt is from Charles Tyrwhitt. Shoes are Cole Haan. Watch is a dollar watch with a Victorian chain and fob. Pocket Square from Rampley and Co.

Of all the pictured items I could praise, that sporran is absolutely fantastic. Envious.

I was kilted too. Wore my Claymore MacDougall kilt with my Black Watch sporran for the first time. Nothing was going on in my area, so I walked the dog, and wen't to the grocery store. Had some interesting conversations that were started by people asking about my kilt. I was wearing my Scottish Rugby team shirt and I talked to a University of Maryland student who didn't know that U of M had a rugby team. Maybe I'll see him when they start playing again. Talked to a man from England about cultural pride. He was very encouraging. Also talked to a fellow kilt wearer, that was not wearing a kilt that day, but he really liked my Black Watch sporran. Not a bad post COVID day!

Always appreciate the list of component sources to go along with a nice picture.

I wear a kilt every Friday to work as part of a fund raising efforts we do locally. It started as Casual Fridays (of course), but since I wear a uniform every day at work, I decided to switch (for me) to Formal Fridays. It's been great for morale during this whole pandemic events as well.Click image for larger version.

    Looking good Wade!

I'll echo the comment about the pandemic - prior to COVID, I wasn't wearing kilts for anything but weddings. It's been a really fun distraction. COVID has made us all feel so alienated, kilts are a great way to engage with both folks on the internet and random passers-by.
