New box pleated kilt takes shape

My wife is now making her third Smith kilt: this time in the more common Smith Ancient and in the traditional box pleated style (six pleats). We decided on that because we only had four metres of fabric to work with (only paid $50 for the material). I've read that box pleats were the original style of kilts. In any event, it makes for something different and it will be a lighter kilt, as it will be worn at the Armadale Highland Gathering next week. As usual, Chintzy the Scottish Fold always seems to get in on the act (or is that quality control)?

    Looking great!

Do you have a kilt in Smith Weathered? I like all Weathered tartans, but Smith is possibly my favourite.

Your wife is a treasure. I wish I had the skills she has. I love my kilts, but I would be very happy saving a bit of money my making them myself. Someday...
