    All of mine are currently "universal" tartans. I do have some cloth to try to make a kilt out of a "nearest family" tartan, but I haven't had the time to do so. Recently, I've also been eyeing the Star Trek tartan as just kind of an amusing combination of things I enjoy. There are lots of options.

    Simple, you have three choices. As you have no real connection to any tartan then just pick the one you like the most. Or, don’t wear a tartan at all. Still want to wear the kilt? How about a nice tweed instead? There are hundreds/thousands of wonderful patterns to choose from.

    Actually, that's the Scott black & white. (For comparison, my avatar is the Scott Red Modern.)
