A little over half way down this page is a picture of the present Duke of Argyll at his wedding. Tweed jacket and fairly plain sporran. Here is another reliable source of kilted wedding guidance.
I think many new to kilt attire and some not so new, do not know or perhaps do not understand that a tweed jacket in kilt attire terms is not a sports jacket, but is the suit equivalent. There is no sports jacket equivalent with kilt attire. Well alright, perhaps the sixty year old torn and threadbare tweed jacket will be worn as a sports jacket for mowing the lawn or for wearing down to the local for a quick pint. Also, I think some discretion is required when wearing LOUD tweed patterns to some events such as a wedding, or for going out for a meal in the evening with the wife, although modest tweed patterns may work well.
