Before I start cutting and ripping the fabric, I want to be sure I do the right thing.
When I opened up the fabric, I noticed that in the middle, the weaver did a repeat of the white stripe. So I think I can treat the cloth like a normal symetrical tartan. Am I right about this?
Can I rip the cloth and make a join in the center back?
Assuming that the cloth is double-width then yes, that's a work around that some weavers use. Fine for kilt making but no use if one wants to use the full width for something else.
