Does TSA hassle long pins? I just acquired a kilt pin that does not look like a sword and has square ends to avoid.being hassled, However it has a long pin on back. It is a nice piece of jade jewelry that I would hate to lose.
It is up to the discretion of the individual TSA officer. They have to make decisions, and they do.
Do yourself a favour, and whether it seems to be a problem or not, put it in your checked luggage. That way, you don't have to worry or wonder.
