2025 Atlanta Burns Night
Last year I went to a nice pub in Sandy Springs on Burns Night. They were not doing a Burns Supper, but for that night every year they have the traditional meal with Haggis on the menu. I'd like to propose meeting up for an informal Burns Supper. Obviously we couldn't do the usual ceremony but maybe we could do a bit of poetry reading. They may even allow some music. I'd be willing to talk with the proprietor beforehand. We'd probably need to reserve a spot, anyway.
I don't recall but I think it was on Burn's birthday (1/25). But for 2025 that's a Saturday night anyway.
Any interest?

I would love to attend an informal Burns dinner, with haggis, etc. I'm not so sold on any performances, poetry readings, music, etc. I'd much prefer just a meal, in kilts, as we catch up with each other. Plus, Sandy Springs is far shorter of a drive for me!

Let's do it. I'll wake up this post in January when it comes up on the pub's scheduled events.

I'll check with Thos. O'reilley's to see if they plan to have haggis on the menu and which date, and will update this thread.

Just got off the phone with Thos. Oreilley's. The do plan to have haggis on the menu on the 25th. They also have a large party reservation (not related to Burns night) so it will be crowded with that and the regular turnout. Also, have live music that night.
That said, I have another obligation on the 25th and won't be able to make it.

While I would love to have some haggis and catch up with you guys, the crowd, live music, and lack of Creag all make that difficult! I think I will also bow out of this one.
