News from my avatar
When first I moved to Montana about 5 years ago, I discovered a trinket at Montana State University's "Museum of the Rockies" souvenir shop. As you can see from my avatar, it's about the same size as a Sgian Dubh (it's actually a clickable ball point pen). When one depresses a lever on the back of the T Rex-s neck, the fearsome jaws open, and the tip of the pen is deployed for writing.
Given that T Rexes or something very similar roamed the Highlands a few years back just as they did the Montana regions 65,000,000 years ago, I decided that when kilted informally; e.g., NOT to a formal wedding or other serious occasion, I could bear a bit of levity in my kilt hose. Unfortunately, mine leaped from my sock and hid in the footwell of my rental car in NYC during tartan week two weeks ago, but now I've discovered a source for replacement (the Museum of the Rockies has not sold them for more than 3 years and has told me they no longer knew where to get them).
This one says 'Universal Studios" on the "shaft" but that's embedded in my sock, so who cares.
Full URL for the source: https://shop.universalorlando.com/sh...ex-pen-1297980
If anyone is silly enough to purchase one based on my recommendation, I'd love to hear about what you think after receiving it.
