Just in case you want to know, the guys at Utilikilts love boots from New Rock. Go check it out, but it may be too out there for most of us.

I have a pair of New Rocks. Great boots. They are big and heavy though and so I don't wear them very often.

I'm wearing them in the fire-spinning photo in my gallery.

The New Rock site won't let me view it in english (and I'm not excatly fluent in spanish), and only the femal collections would load, and while I'm sure I'd look just 'mahvellous', not quite the alley I'm looking for...

    Here's a link to a distributor:

They have a representative sample in their catalog.

I'm sure there's a time and a place for everything, but my wardrobe is not one of those places. Thanks for the link in any case, Rigged (PS, I got the belt back from the leathersmith today, and It's just dashing, thanks again).

Payless has some nice looking boots, and they're most reasonably priced as well! Does anyone know anything about their quality? (Al.G?)

I got a pair of brown suede hiking boots from Payless, and I liked them so much I bought another pair to wear for work! They're the Stanley ones, come to just over the ankle. Very comfy.

The boots I wear most often are "Mack" steel-toed workboots. I got them at Target for about $30.00. They're very comfortable, rugged, waterproof and lined with Thinsulate for warmth. They're the other black boots I'm wearing in my gallery photos.

    They're similar to these:

I don't know if Target still has them, but I did find a pair on eBay: Item# 5358371307

I'm glad things worked out with the belt. It's an amazing piece of leatherwork. It's time I ordered a new one.

So far they've been great! I have problems finding comfortable footwear, but these boots really fit the bill, errrr...foot. LOL
I've been wearing them every day for the past 4 months with no ill effects on the boots at all. They are comfy and warm, and I plan to buy another pair shortly, just to have when and if these ones wear out.
Btw...the brand name is "Street State".

I actually have the same ones in black and in workman's brown. The brown ones have taken a huge beating, and are on death's door, but the black have held up really well. You definitely get some good use out of a cheap pair of boots.
