My story is much as Anne describes. Purchased a kilt for Scottish Country Dancing about 20 years ago and got hooked. Didn’t see many regular kilt wearers in my previous life in North Hampshire, other than myself.
I tend to take the view that if I am seen out and about in the kilt it may encourage others to do the same and hopefully keep casual kilt wearing alive and help the traditional highland dress industry.
The other point is; why spend a fortune on a kilt and then shut it away in a wardrobe!
