Which of these two sporrans do you prefer?
I was cleaning my cantles, and then I got the idea that I might swap them.
Then I got curious which style more people prefer.
So, which sporran do you prefer?
The one on the bottom (right in original picture) with a separate edge piece and a join at the bottom?
Or the one top (left in original picture) where the edging is the same piece as the body?

I think the size of that image is breaking the page formatting

Thanks, I posted on my phone, and with a phone's huge PPI the image looked good.
I resized it, so it should look much better now.

I think the construction of the one on the left looks a little better to me, but I like the fur on the right side one better

Looks like the darker grey one has holes for five tassels, like here at bottom left.

I prefer the darker grey.
What do the sporrans look like on the back? I always like to see the backs, they say more than the fronts.

...
Yes, I removed two of the tassels because I wanted the three tassel look. Most people don't get an up-close look to see the holes left behind. Maybe my mood will change later and I'll add them back on.

Same positions as the front photo. The darker sporran is on the top, lighter on the bottom.

The quality of the workmanship of the red one is much better.
What are the cantles like?

Ah, I see they're both WE Scott.
One has the oval gold stamp they used for many years, the other one is a bit more recent when they stopped stamping them.
I've seen some with stickers, which of course tend to fall off.
BTW you need to resize your images to a width of around 900-930 so they fit on the format on some people's screens (like mine).

The cantles are in the same positions in the photos as the sporrans they came from.
==== Top Cantle ====
The cantle is one piece.
Stamped "Made in Scotland".
The matching sporran is also stamped "Made in, real leather, Scotland".
==== Bottom Cantle ====
The three buttons on the cantle are separate pieces.
There is no origin stamp on the cantle.
The matching sporran also has no origin stamp.

Thank you for the analysis. I'll resize the photos... again. :-)
