    Makenzie weathered tartan pleating...

Oh great wizard of BC... I have some Makenzie weathered tartan and was contemplating pleating to the orange stripe... the sett is10.25 inches, so pleat would be about 4.5 inches with a pleat width of about 1 inch...
Any advice if this would work? Roughly 18 to 20 pleats ... this would only be slightlt deeper than my MacDonald of the Isle Hunting Ancient.

    Thanks for your input...

Not the Wizard of BC but it's interesting that your MacKenzie Weathered would have an orange stripe.

    Generally the various colour-schemes go

Modern colours: red > scarlet (a "warm" red)

    Ancient colours: red > red-orange

Weathered colours: red > red-claret (a "cool" red)

Muted colours: red > red-claret (a "cool" red)

That's interesting, I'd never noticed how "warm" (scarlet) the red in Lochcarron "weathered" tartans are.

    Here's Lochcarron's Buchanan Weathered where there's a wide swath of it https://www.lochcarron.co.uk/buchana...-tartan-fabric

My Hunting Stewart Weathered is from Marton Mills and it has more of the "cool" red like House Of Edgar uses in their "muted" range of tartans.
