As requested, the final result from the wedding yesterday. Shortened the flashes and sporran chain, took more care with my tie knot (I used the St. Andrew knot), and wearing a balmoral rather than a flat cap. Some will still disapprove of the red shoes, but my partner loves them and, well, I live with her. She is rather Mother Nature dressed, partly because she performed the ceremony.
I think you look great, and the shoes look good too, even if they stray a bit from the conventions. What's the pin in your left lapel?

I know I'm dissenting, but I maintain that I like the color of your brogues.
I do think the flashes would look better if they matched your brogues more closely, but I'm splitting hairs.
The kilt pin isn’t really a kilt pin. We have a friend who is a glass artist who made me a pin of various colored iridescent glass, meant as a lapel pin. It’s really a bit larger and heavier than a kilt pin should be, but it’s unique and handmade by a friend.
