Irish tartans...
I like the Co. Mayo tartan; where would be ordering the kilt from?
Remember that the "Irish kilt" is a relatively new thing in history, and that the Irish county tartans were designed in the 1990's.
Cheers,
Todd

I know that a couple of guys have purchased from the alternate site for this company, http://scottishkilts.net, and have been pleased with the products.
You might want to check on the price before you order, since the US Dollar has taken a nose dive lately. I'd hate to see them adjust the price for the exchange rate, and you finding an extra sum added to your purchase price. I'm not saying they do this, but better safe than sorry.

I happen to be a big fan of this company. They respond within a couple days to any question you ask through their site, are true to their time estimates, and the products are what they say they are. I have a hand-stitched from them that is a beauty.

The Irish county tartans, including the County Mayo, are woven by the House of Edgar, in Scotland, in a 13 oz (medium weight) worsted wool. It is really good kilting cloth, and I really like their colors. I think you'll be satisfied with the product.
The price that company is offering for their 4 yard casual kilt seems fine. When you adjust for the poud to dollar conversion, it's about the same price (well, a little more, but in the same ball park) as we offer the same product for.

So, seems to be a fair price for a good product.
BTW, if you have't yet seen your Mayo tartan, follow the link above and you can see all the Irish county tartans.
Aye,
Matt

The price might be listed in Yankee Dollars, but that don't mean the price won't fluctuate due to fluctuations in the Dollar/Pound, or Dollar/Euro exchange rate.
Not every business does, but many state clearly that prices are subject to change without notice.

Hmmm, they don't list any Ulster tartans. In the future I wouldn't mind picking up one to be representitive of me Mum's side. I already have the very 'Green' Irish National for me Pop's side. (I know that the Ulster Tartan isn't the prettiest but Ulster Red is nice.)

I have been looking for the Ulster Red as well..
Doesn't seem as common as the county tartans...
