Aw man! Sorry to see these guys go. I've always enjoyed stopping in and browsing when I'm up in that area on vacation. Won't seem the same.
Guess I got away cheap though, just an argyll jacket.

I say good riddance. I have only had bad dealings with them.

I didn't want to be the first to say anything negative, but now that Higlandtide did.....
I never dealt with them, but I did shop on their site quite a bit, and it is my impression that their prices were far too high for what they offered. Many vendors, MANY, obviously use the same distributors/sources for merchandise, and the prices were much, much better.
Anyway, now at their sale prices, they are finally competitive.....

How do you know if you are 46R or 46L?
Short, Regular and Long
Uh, yeah...... But what actual dimensions do these archaic and non-descriptive letters represent??

I looked over their site to see if I could get any good deals, but even their sale prices are still, by and large, more expensive than our standard retail prices.
Aye,
Matt

They describe the relationship of sleeve length and where the bottom of the jacket falls. I suggest going to a Mens Warehouse or other mens shop where jackets are sold and trying on a few to determine what you need. In a 44R the 44 is the chest measurement while the R covers the lengths of sleeve and bottom hem.

Maybe that's why they're shutting down, no business.

All I ordered from Scottish Lion is a kilt pin, the thistle with the purple stone. I never bought from them before because their prices seemed high and I'd heard of problems with customer service.

BTW,
A 50R jacket should have a sleeve length of 26". A 50S would have 25" sleeves, and a 50L would have 27" sleeves.
