If they said it's backordered it's likely they are out of stock and had an order in for more already for more and that order may have been shipped already so can't be cancelled.

Ah, well, that makes sense. That must mean the decision to close up shop was rather sudden, if they still have outstanding orders coming in.

Ok, here is the latest on my orders from Scottish Lion. Remember me telling you a few posts back that they had no record of me ordering a Sherrifmuir jacket, two cook books, two Tattoo videos, and one CD. I then placed an order for a Lovat blue tweed jacket, the two videos, and one CD, and the sherrifmuif jacet was gone, so was the cookbook. Well, I was quite surprised yesterday when I opened up the package from UPS, thinking this was the lovat blue jacket, when lo and behold, there is a Sherrifmuir jacket, the two Tattoo videos, and the two cookbooks. The CD was sold out. Somehow, even thought their computers said no record of my order, and when I ordered the lovat blue jacket there were no more Sherrifmuir jackets, I got my "lost" order. So I am guessing next week I will receive my lovat blue tweed jacket, the same two Tattoo Videos (which I will probably use to start a St. Andrew's Society of Mid-Maryland library), and another CD that I ordered in place of the sold out one.
By the way, the Sherrifmuir jacket looks awesome. My wife and I were actually speechless when I put it on and looked in the mirror. I did not even have my kilt on, and was wearing pants. As soon as I get the lace shirt, I will put everything on and get a picture. The jacket is a 50L, fits wonderfully. Now I am afraid to loss weight, which I need to do. If I loss weight, this nice expensive jacket will become too big.

I can't wait to see you in it, David! Will you model it in the SASMM festival fashion show, please, if we do have one? (Sorry I missed the planning meeting on Sunday!) I ordered a Sheriffmuir and a Montrose doublet for Alan from the Scottish Lion's going-out-of-business sale. They confirmed the order by email but when I phoned they said the jackets were already gone. Maybe we'll be lucky like you and I'll find them on the doorstep! I hope so. By the way, I know where you can get a lace jabot and cuffs or a jabot shirt...
If you lose weight, the jacket can be altered to fit. Good tailoring can always be remade by a good tailor. So don't worry too much about that!
Congratulations on your great new acquisition!

Cyndi,
I was going to ask you if you carried jabots. If you do, I would be interested in knowing your price? You can send me a private message.

David,
I know exactly what you mean.
I just got my Prince Charlie jacket from them.
50L.
I too need to lose several sizes.
I consulted a local tailor who advised me.
"It's always easier to go make something to
go down a few sizes.
Going up in sizes is practically impossible
My jacket is fine now, but I am
working hard to drop some excess baggage.
I hope this is a problem I have to deal with over the
next year.

Interesting. Just got a post card from The Scottish Lion advertising a "Giant Sale" on line. 25 to 75% off all "in-stock" items. Not a word about going out of business...
Looks like the card arrived too late to take advantage of anything.
