I don't know if I can think of a tartan that is predominantly pink off the top of my head, but the Offaly county tartan has a pink line in it. You can see a picture here:

What is the shade of pink you are looking for? Maybe you can get by with some of the weathered red tartans?

    Can you post an image?

    Aye,
    Matt

Pink eh? You must really be in love. You can try diffrent searches on the net to see tartans with pink in them. Other than that good luck!

    Pink!! It must be love.

Check out the Tartan Store website. You can scroll through all the tartan images. I did a breif look and found 5 between letters A & B:

    Arran District
    Birrell Ancient
    Borthwick Modern
    British Columbia
    Brides Plaid

These are just a few I found.

    Gez,

Pink is not a colour frequently found in tartans. Matt has highlighted one. Another, of which I am very fond, is 'Bruce of Kinnaird' in the Ancient colours. In fact I am seriously thinking about having a new kilt made in this tartan myself.

I believe it is woven only by Lochcarron in Scotland and it's available only in the Strome quality/weight (heavy, and perfect for a man's kilt). I have a sample of the fabric (from Lochcarron) and the pink lines are quite pronounced but, unfortunately, I cannot find a Tartan Search that shows this one in anything like the true colouring.

You will get an idea of it via the Lochcarron website. Go to:

    http://www.lochcarron.com/stromesw.htm

Scroll down the list to Bruce of Kinnaird, and click on it. That is not a good rendition of the actual colouring but it's better than any other!

What about Lindsay? I can't claim to have seen the tartan in the flesh (so to speak), but the photos I've seen seem to show some pinkish tones.

Or is that some sort of purple...?

    Hm.

    Gez,

I've been thinking about this since I first read you post, kept drawing a blank, but I see that many of the kilted brethern have stepped forward. They are wealth of information.

    Two more things;

    1. Welcome to the forum.

    2. CONGRATULATIONS on your marriage

Also keep in mind that in a wedding where the groom would wear a traditional tuxedo, the cummerbund or waistcoat can be a colour to match the bridal party. In the case of a kilted wedding, you could see if you could match the waistcoat of a Prince Charlie, or perhaps the flashes. If the kilt had a fair amount of blue in it I think that might work out all right.

Usually, though, the bride wears white, the groom wears black and white, and the bridal party and groomsmen wear the chosen "theme" colour (with the groomsmens' waistcoats or cummerbunds in the chosen colour, and black jackets and trousers). Of course, every wedding can be however the bride and groom choose it to be.

    Andrew.

Ancient Elliott has blue, with black and a pinkish stripe in it. It's also available.

For my wedding, the father-of-the-bride and his four brothers are going to wear black coats, black kilts, cream kilt hose, white shirts, and matching ties and flashes (in their desired colors). You also have the option... wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

A bow tie and flashes that match her stuff can be made by any reputable seamstress.
