First 'outing' !

I've had a great morning Whilst working at home, the computer ran out of ink. I was wearing my kilt and decided this was the morning to do the first shopping trip. I know for many of you it's a regular occurrence, but prior to this I had only done the functions and parties kilted besides at home.My local town is a small, market town- rather conventional, and it is the school holidays here, so I was not looking forward to banal comments from spotty oiks However I did not have any odd comments.I only overheard one gent asking his wife "What's he wearing that for?" - like she would know It's been a great confidence boost and I hope, a help to any others that still worry about going about the normal routines kilted.
-Maybe it was a sign that as I got out of my car, the first person I saw was a bloke in his doorway in a Celtic shirt who said Hi

It's nerve racking the first time you go out in public kilted. I went out for the first time in my kilt last weekend for breakfast, and walked all around the little town I was in. I expected the worst but nothing happened. It felt great not having to defened myself. Walking around kilted in public just keeps getting easier after the first time you venture out. Keep it up.

I'm glad to see that there is some positive reaction in England. I felt like I stood out like a sore thumb in London; Japanese Tourists taking pictures of me, the tour guide giving me disapproving looks, overhearing a girl saying "...but he does look good in it, though..." as we walked by. OK, that last part was fun, but other than that, most people didn't seem to care for the UK... Oh well.

I know how you feel. My first time out kilted felt strange. Of course it was at an re-enactment so most folks were already used to a man in a kilt.

However the first time I went out kilted, I was a bit nervous. but after the first comment, "that looks great!" from an attrative woman, well it was as ego booster to say the least

I very much enjoy wearing my kilt, but my wife is starting to get a bit jealous of all the cute women that come over a say how great I look. My wifes co-workers all love seeing me kilted, they go out of thier way to help me find her.

So my friend keeping on kilting!
