WOW... WOW... WOW!!!!!!!!!
What an absolutely OUTSTANDING time THAT was!!! The parade was a little thinner than originally scheduled, but then the rain and winds can do that. Those that DID go (and there were a ton of bands) did an GREAT job in promoting the tartan!!! WOW.
Those that joined us at Connolly's were some of the ROWDIEST people that I've ever met! They knew our songs... even the Barleyjuice originals! There was dancing, and drinking, and yelling, and drinking, and bagpipes, and drinking, and... you bet... drinking!
When this thing hits NEXT YEAR, I can only recommend it to ANYONE that wants to experience the kilts in their full glory! THIS is what kilt-wearing and the tartan brotherhood is ALL ABOUT!!! I've been to many Burn's Suppers. I've done the kilt nights. I've done the Highland Games. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING compares to Tartan Day in New York City!!!
I've never met so many Irish, Welsh and Scottish people that became friends so FAST! This was truly an event that can only be explained by being there!
Put it on your calendars NOW. Plan accordingly for the next year. It's MORE than worth the time, expense and planning to attend something like this. You'll be sooooo proud of your kilts!
~Side note: New York women LOVE kilts!~
Arise. Kill. Eat.
