Okay, sorry, then don't buy the book...
Kilts for men open on the right side.
Pleats go every which way depending...even box pleats.
The book is full of details needed to make a kilt that doesn't look like a manskirt...well worth the price for the many things you'll encounter as you go along. Take a look at the tread for Barb's posse where a whole bunch of guys are making kilts and talking about it as they go. Think its under the kiltmaker's forum...you'll see what you're getting into if you're making a true kilt and not a manskirt.
