Doc, once Hank gets it all set up right I think you'll like it well enough. Getting it set up and configured is always the headache.

I guess that I missed the time the other was up. I like this format, but I am sure that I can adapt.

I noticed that while the new system was up yesterday, all of the PMs I had saved were gone. Makes sense since this is running off of a different software system.

Guess I need to get some addresses and other messages saved on my computer. Just thought I might warn other people to do the same.

Rufus, good idea. Hank should be able to import the database but you never know what'll happen.

I prematurely made the switch without making sure everything was working right....then my internet died...BOY that stunk!

I still have some bugs to work out but it will be good for the system.

As they say, "Life is Change". I don't mind a new system as long as the change is not just for the sake of change. I can adapt to a new system (I have to do it almost yearly at work!). My own philosophy for change is that it must benefit the users and/or the administrators. As has been said before, thank you for getting the opinions of the users.

Doc, you've used a very key word, there. "Style". When you get to the bottom line, phpBB and vB forums are all based on .php files, so they are very similar in many ways. (Of course the way those files are used makes a tremendous difference and vB is vastly superior in that area. For users, moderators and administrators alike.)

It is the "style" of the forum that catches your eye. A Ferrari in your least favorite color is still a Ferrari. And there's where the "different strokes for different folks" comes into play.

There are many "styles" that are available for both phpBB and vB. I used a phpBB style on my old phpBB forum that was totally different from anything else and looked nothing like this. Personally, I've always thought this style was one of my least favorite of the lot. It is just a different "style".

When it comes down the the actual inner workings of the software, vB starts to really shine. So if you look past the "style", you will find a much more flexible and user-friendly forum.
