Ive always had my misgivings about "archie the inventor" , he lives in a large pink castle, wears a pink sweater and a kilt with pink stripes has a friend called "nobby" and is often found in the company of young children!, maybe he needs to rethink his image ! Balamory is Politically correct to the extereme, the afore mentioned Archie, a black american painter called "Spencer" , a camp policeman called "PC Plum" , a black lady who is a fitness fanatic, a disabled geordie lass, and a scots lady mechanic -but kids love it and Mull is the star of the show!! diversity was never more fun!!

Ah, but Miss Hoolie (who runs the childrens' nursery) manages to keep them all in order, even Archie with his 'pink' obsession. I am afraid that political correctness is the norm these days, but at least pre-school boys have been introduced to the fact that men and boys can wear kilts, in a very matter-of-fact sort of presentation, so they won't think twice about it if they see men or boys wearing kilts, and may even want a kilt themselves. I think the series has done some good in that respect.
