When I get up into somebody's face and growl at them, they usually wet themselves. How do you do it Bear? How much is enough and what is to much? You are a lot nicer looking than I am so that may have something to do with it.

As for those punks... They are kids. They think they know everything. Let them have their fun. Just remind your self that one day they might move out of mommy and daddy's basement, and the real world will crush them.

A few weeks ago I was walking across campus, kilted, heading for the student union for lunch. A class of kids were visiting campus and were on lunch break. These kids happened to be mostly Hispanic, but that's pretty much neither here nor there. While I was clear across White Plaza, I heard the hoots and fake laughter and catcalls. I went in and got my jamba Juice.

On the way out, I specifically turned to go right by them. As I was passing them one girl very shyly asked me where the Jamba Juice was. I told her. Another guy very tenatively asked me what "that thing" was. I told him it was a kilt and that my family was from Scotland, an in Scotland men wear kilts a lot.

I also said, loud enough for the whole group to hear, that they were welcome here at Stanford. In fact, pretty much everybody is welcome at Stanford, as long as they treat other people with respect and keep an open mind about things. Stanford is all about learning, I said, ...that's what we do, here, so I hope that you learn something today when you visit the University.

And then I kept on walking. About thirty seconds later I got kissed by a pretty undergraduate girl, but I already told that story.

I decided not to point out that I noticed that while I was across the plaza at a safe ddistance, they dared to make the catcalls, but when I got close and REAL, all of a sudden they all got quiet. I figured that wasn't going to educate anybody.

    LOTS of good lessons here!
i think the main thing i have read is that i ma the ADULT and i will come off with a lot more grace and class if i act like the adult. 'ods bodkins but that sounds so easy and is so hard. i also don't have nearly the intimidation factor as kilt wilter so the "wet yourself" option is pretty well out.
guess i will go for the interested and involved look for a while.
    thanks all
