Highland Games Website
THIS THREAD IS ONLY FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN HELPING MAINTAIN A NATIONAL AND POSSIBLY INTERNATIONAL DATABASE OF HIGHLAND GAMES AND CELTIC FESTIVALS
I am now looking for some volunteers who will be trust worthy and dilligent. I have set up the database for our new Highland Games website.
I am looking for some people who truly care about the Highland Games and Celtic event culture. I will be assigning portions of the Nation as well as Canada at this time (if there are volunteers for other countries let me know as well) to individuals who will promise to maintain them. At this point the below regions are open to moderation. If you would like to be the moderator for a region please reply to this post with the region you wish to moderate. It will be first come first serve, but each region will have two mods to help with the load (if there is enough volunteers that is...). I will PM or email the candidates with info on how to continue. Please only sign up if you are willing to take the time to maintain your regions Highland Games and Celtic Festival listings.
Please reply to this post only if you are volunteering to moderate a region!
Here are the regions:

Heck, if I can figure it out, anyone can. It's extremely easy to add and edit the entries. Let's help Hank out here guys, he is doing this to benefit all of us, and all those people that love attending highland games in there area, but can never figure out where and when they are.

Highland Games site...
To add to Colin's post, Hank's web site will really benefit the Scottish & Celtic communities, especially since there really isn't one central location on the net for festival & games information.
Hank, are you planning to design a graphic for web sites to advertise the new site? I know our web master would add one on our St. Andrew's Society site.
Besides, it's just a lot of fun, and only takes a couple of minutes to add an entry!
Cheers,
Todd

Very good list.. One thing I noticed is that on the List By State page: http://www.highlandgameslist.com/search_by_state.php
States are listed as Michigan Highland Games, Ohio Highland Games and so on.. I feel like having Highland Games after each listing is kind of redundant and doesn't lend it self for quick browsing..
I also noticed that www.Highlandgameslist.com is not listed on Yahoo. Is this by design?
If Mike1 or your self would like some help with Region 5, I could lend a hand.

The site is only a couple of weeks old. It takes a while to get listed in the search engines.
On the page though that says "Highland Games" after each state, that is by design. You see SEO and Search Engine Marketing are one of my specialties. That will help this website to get indexed faster.
